If you can let one experience build on another, keeping a positive attitude, and hang in there, life can be as beautiful as you are prepared to make it.

The Day "What If" changed to "When"
At 54 years of age, I can remember the "what ifs" of air raid drills. I can recall answering the questionnaire inquiring to what you would have your child to do "If" we should be attacked.
In 2003 we are now moved to heightened alert around the nation and "what if" seems like a pipe dream as the news broadcasters move to "
when" this occurs. Fear will grip a large portion of this nation as they begin to purchase 4mil thick plastic and duct tape, water and food supplies for three days. How do we move on from this report whether it happens or not?
It seems this begs a greater question: how have we lived our lives? What is the purpose we are moving toward with our daily actions? Are we blessing others as we go? Some will beg what that question even means.
When we are interactive with others we are either blessing them or causing them a problem. They are happy to see us coming or tend to turn the opposite direction as we approach. Are we complainers or are we problem solvers? Are we pleasant to talk to or do people feel exhausted when we walk away?
These are the things we can control. It is impossible for us to control the where and when of dirty bombs or other attacks that may come, but we can make a cognitive decision to live our lives in a way that gives to others. We can turn fear into something much more productive. We can become a people who are concerned for others more than themselves
These may be the most important things that come from the change of "what if" to " when." If we have a paradigm shift in how we treat each other are we not more blessed than we are frightened by the threat that is impending?

Moonglow
The glow from a silver moon
lights my night sky
Stars, silent sentries
in the navy blue nearby
Such beauty stirs
my heart with yearning
How long, I wonder
have you watched my world turning?
How many dreamers
have basked in your glow?
How many lonely people
do you know?
Is it joy from lovers
that causes your glow?
Are moonbeams really love beams
reflected from below?
